“Like a madman who throws Firebrands, arrows and death”, Proverbs 26:18
Any human beings fundamentally have their being to this earth as a result of a functional soul. Once the soul/mind of the person is lost hence the person becomes degraded and ceases to be functional in life. The soul of the person is the one which decides how then the whole body is to conduct itself. A lost soul or a violated soul often leads to unbecoming actions from the body.
It is with this understanding as a historian of psychology that I write to inform the nation that the constitution of Zimbabwe is the soul of the nation. The constitution is the brain map where you find the thinking of the people on how they want to be governed and to govern certain issues within this nation. The constitution holds the thinking in how things should be, the same way as the soul/mind of a person holds things in its mind. Without the mind/soul we cannot have the person, and a violated mind by rape or other coercive forces results in a violated person.
It is also similar in that when the soul of the nation is being violated in the guise of amendments. Violation of the constitution is an outright violation of the nation of Zimbabwe. The far reaching implication is like having a person whose brain was surgically removed walking in the streets. The dangers of such are not on the person without the brain but rather on persons whom such a person will come to contact with.
The amendments which are being sought seek to remove Zimbabwe its soul or at least violet it to such an extent that the nation will not be able to function. The extent of such a procedure would affect negatively everyone even to some who think will directly benefit from that amendment. Everyone who will deal with Zimbabwe as a citizen or foreigner will be at the danger of dealing with a nation without its mind, a ‘madman’ to be precise.
